My email has been hacked and slowly i pick up the peices of my cyber life! on top of that i have just finished O week which means the nu uni year is upon us! at the moment it seems life is running towards us and wearing a blindfold! so it could run right into you, brush past and just nicking u on the sholder or just missing to completely. SO SHOULD WE RESERVE OURSELVES? or should we charge and have no regret and/or not even a chance to have regret?

Hey all! were have i been? well..? WORKING! and my computer crashed due to trojen! which was not my fault coff coff! i acturally have been doing alot of crafting but have be very very lazy to take photos! plus there was a HUGE muck up and now i havent got any of my previous saved pics! and it's KILLING ME!

also i've hit some private rocks in the road which has sent me spiraling off course with my life and everything! but hey? happy christmas or not (depending on what you believe).

yes now i'm an employeed chicky and yeah it has ups downs about it. it can get "meh" but thats all part of work retail. i really wat to work this yeah and like achieve shiz but u now i am one lazy child.

Eeeekkk! it's the 19th and i have only posted one blog for this month!! that is why this blog is has been posted right after the last. well, pic one is of a cape i made...why?...cos capes are so cool! i wear this around uni! i also have a big red one! (didn't make that one though). this has IMPORTANTLY a hoodle! which is ideal for were i live! it's just simple job to make also! simply a sheet folding in half with a draw strip slightly high that half way! cool! total cost about $4

Hey readers, i know long time no blog. that's due to the fact i've been busy with my dancing! i have my advance one exam comming up soon! and well that takes alot out of a girl. also stuff like organising accounts and work (lately these things are taking up more time in my life then they should). i am very very poor atm. due to the fact i have been going crazy with Op shopping of late!!! anyways today i shot pics of my work station and equipment i use in my art alot. 1st pic is of my top draw as you can see i buy alot of my stationary from smiggle and i've been using glitter glue alot of late. the 2nd pic is of some of my meduims (watercolours, pencils, etc) also some paint brush and inspiration. i feel it's very important to consistainly be on the look out for ideas and to have a space to incorporate them.

These photos i took from a second hand store in my hometown. it was so cultered, there was an amazing atmosphere when entering the shop! made a payment on a vintage dresser for my bedroom (since mine is broken)! there was dozens of pottery, glass dishes, kettles, bottles, tins, old cameras, irons, chairs and books. this shop was a collectors dream! next time i'm visiting i'll have more money and i'll take my friend or my nana. xo elisa

Hi bloggers, readers, friends! today i go some sad news that one of my firends from queensland died in a car crash and i am very sad for him. This weekend one of my best friend comes down and visits me! yay and i have a big party for another one of my friends! any who this is some of my costume for the party! i used an old black jacket i brought from an OP shop acturally i think i was given this for free...? i don't know?! anywho that how long i've had it! i drew out a chalk shape of wear i wanted it to sit and i cut 2cm around the shape. it's harder to sew on the tail coat points and center back line. I replaced the buttons to a more flashy golden kind. i added a small floded over triangle out of the crap fabric to create a small buckle at the back. sorry about the back photos.

Barbie video Bag! Blog no: 37!

This is my mega cool! mega girly! mega glam! handbag i made for fun yay! i used a simple video case (barbie one! best movie ever! talk more about it later)
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
* video tape box of something you love
* lace
* thread
* lost of small colourful beads
* two large beads
* drill
* hot glue gun

i drilled (hardest part) two holes in the plastic side of tape (important not to go through any parts that hold the box together) and threaded a large bead to hold the beading through the hole to hold the chain same is done on other side. I used a hot glue gun to fasten the lace around the tape. it's easy and cute!

There is acturally a long story about this flick! i brought it in an op shop exspecting barbie and got...bugs bunny! wahhhhh i was so upset!!!! but lucky i found it in another op shop while shoppin with my mates yay! in another case which is no where as cute as this featured case but the film! wow! barbie and her glam rock band from the future gets stuck in the 1950's via her spaceship getting stuck in a time tunnel. quote from casset "BARBIE and her friends can't wait to join the kids down at the ice-cream parlour for a be-boppin' rock'n' rollin' good time!"
wow this is one amazing vid! go barbie! go the 80s! go caratoons! it has many singing clips in it with quite fun songs! "Have a blast from the past with BARBIE!"

Easy craft bags! Blog no: 36!

Behold the most easy way to pimp up your bags! these fabric bags are 90cents and lincraft! you'd have to be stupid to fail at this craft activity!
what you'll need:
* fabric paint (we used black)
* lincraft bags 90cents (colours: white, red and green)
* newspaper (fold it in half and put in bag so the ink does not sink through)
* thin paint brush and glass was water to wash paint out.
When paint is dry on bag i suggest you turn it inside out and iron it.
I love the fact that you can do anything on the bag! just run wild you know! witty sayings! drawings, maccers ANYTHING!
also when you think about it you can do this to anything! get creative!

I don't know how the idea came to me but it was after i started to create sofites with doll faces! you see i had all these body parts and i mind began a ticking! i needed a hat and a necklace if there were some to spare! I didn't want to waste any part of the doll! so i saved up every arm, leg and chest of my dolls to create the most wonderful headdress in the world!!! the idea was to make it in a fan shape drawing for victorian lady hats! i brought the base for the hat a lin craft for about $12 among with lots of other craft stuff i waste my money on there!
but it was worth it cos i do not love a human child as much as i love this head peice!
i show boo (my twin) it and she nearly cried and asked me to take it off! i let her wear it and she asked me to take it off! i jumped infont of uni buddy who picks me up and she screamed! and asked me not to wear it at uni! that was the same advice my mum gave me too! but i did wear the necklace and by god i'm wearing it on tuesday! I used a hot gluegun fasten it to the head band and had to snip at it to make it stand up. i used a demn pin to perice the plastic to thread the necklace! wonderful!!!

Barbie Headed snail Baby! Blog no: 34!

So yeah it's been ages since i posted and yes made a softie this one i made ages ago and pattern wise not my best. however this snail baby had a barbie head with dyed pink hair and very glam rock face make up (blue glitter glue used). I beaded shiny bead and button into her hair with a demn pin. Btw her hair used to be this blond knot so i took a page from a 5 year old and gave it a random punk chop. i swear i have never done this to a barbie ever before! I found the doll in an op shop in queensland and sent it to my self down here. i was very inflenced by david bowie at the time i believe! go the felt lighten bolts!

Bug's slippers and cartoons, G! Blog no: 33!

Today i present you images of a gift Jazmine and me made for our firends 19th b'day dinner party. These slippers i assume where some hotel and cost a doller from an OP shop. god know how much all those buttons cost me! i am proud of the wire feelers on the lady bugs. all glued down by a hot glue gun.
Along with this we painted on a 90cents fabric bag saying: i don't eat meat, G! just so you know the "G" it was my contribution cos i'm so ganster. acturally i find that type of humor i just said pretty worn out. anyways i used felt for the lady bugs and the spelling out of her nick name "bug". it's not my nickname for her
but still.
my sister just read me a funny article on the 80's cartoon Jem and the holograms. from the website www.retrojunk.com and they do heaps of other shows for the 70s, 80s and 90s! i was born in 1990 so i got to watch the cartoons from the 80s that had some lastablitty. like Kimba the white lion (resently got tape of some eps for 50cents), lady lovely locks, dragan ball, strawberry short cake, sailor moon and etc. though i was younge enough to watch all the 90s disney and nick classics. such as aliadan, beatuy and the beast and pokeamon. yes i got it good! nun of this yugioh GX crap! only the original! i no longer get cartoons to day! american dragon...?! how did i loose touch?! i think it started when i began to hate shows like kim possible, the proud family, dextor's lab or what ever! oh lets not forget start comand spoof of toy story show! i wanted then to make a woody cowboy one but i guess it could get pretty camp and i believe sponge bob has taken that roll. acturally that is by cartoons suck now! the animation sucks, the story are predicable and lame and are too correct now! you can't get away with shit today! that's why we all turn to anime! i'm guessing.

actually i handed alot of my work in i'm currently getting withdraws from being apart from them (i handed in alot of my orignals). what was i surpose to say no you can't have what i've draw this year it's mine...?!

I made there shoes yesterday! my friend and idea decorated 3 pairs (pink, purple and blue)
the idea was to make a easy handmade gift for our friends birthday tea party! it was our friends 20th.
the slipper was a $2 slipper from Ryan's* IGA. the slipper claims to be "maybe the most softest slipper ever" on the packet however i doubt it.

we decorated buttons, beads and lace...at first then i desidered to use small pencils, paper clips, Barbie (doll) brushes and (as you can see) boom box, small toys broken badges and key chains.
i find it best to theme the shoes and make them lavish in design and style! my is perhapes barbie retro...? we also wrote messages on the bottom of the shoe!!! yay!
sorry i don't have any good pics of the other shoes )-; and my net pretty blown! the tea party was great and we're all gonna wear our shoes during our exam for luck!

Introducing my snail Baby! i made it last weekend. i used a dolls face and arms (the ears) for the flesh parts. it's a simple partner which i'll upload soon (one day). Since the face and upper part of the softie is heavier than the bottom i used marbles for weights (which worked wonders!) i am very proud of her! my sister says it looks like a sperm! however to me it's a snail or slug!

At last i have sat down and made another Softie and i must say i missed it!
This is the little devil girl i made on sunday! the face was from a baby doll i got from the trash and treasure markets for 50 cents! when buying a doll for this sofite it is important that the face is squishy and can be stitched through easily. colourful button must be sewin on before stitching the two part whole body together. This is probabley the most easiest pattern!
you can not tell also in these picture but the doll has an animal print peice of felt for the back.
I am really excited to create more doll faced softies!
These photos i must admite do not give the doll any justice! it is far more kitch and colourful.
What happend to the rest of the doll? you'll have to find out!

Melbourne street Graffiti Blog no:22!

This are just some photos i took from the colourful ever changing streets of Graffiti. unfortunately i haven't yet seem Fafi's (artist i wrote about in a blog) peice yet (which makes me sad). i went there with one of my friends from the gold coast and another from my class at uni.
Street art interests me very much atm cos i feel the artist don't do it for a gallery or fame or whatever.
Also i have scaned the complete ghostworld series and will be posting them soon up so you can download it and read it!!! (i could find any scan of it online!) if i figure how to upload it and also i'm a little worried about post it cos it is sorta bad.
Oh well! i acturally have made many softies cos i have such a low drive at the moment. it's like i can barely do anything. i need to start eating right too. even my Uni work have been hard for me to do. Art College! Blog no 21!

This is a painting i did in my last life model class. I got all inspired and brought in lots of watercolours, pastels, pens and brushes. i'll scans and post up some of my other work so that you can see what i've been doing lately.
Art college is pretty cool and next tuesday i get graded for my painting folio which hey isn't exactly my fav folio i've ever done. there is like no freedom in my course.

Also next thursday my mate Ryan comes down to visit me n boo, my sister.
next week i only have Uni on two days in which i'll be making stamps at a post office!! YAY! last year apparently they bound books.
which reminds me that i happened to have two articles on Ghost world in 2 mags i own (Yen and Empty) i might scan them up you all.
i've also been looking around on sites etc for the scans of ghostworld but haven't found any. I've also being watching the movie and i feel the character's are different from the comic, but still pretty cool but not as cool as the real thing. This morning i read the comic "Blankets" and damn well that WAS interesting. it's about a Guy named Craig and his battle with christainity and love and life. At first i thought is was preachy but at the end he's most happy without faith...i kinda disconnected myself from the character at time to enjoy it.

Ghost world if you don't know is Amazing!

Written and illustrated by Daniel clowes (a popular american cartoonist from the 90s).

This comic book is witty (black humor) , smart and makes you feel that little bit alternative and cool.

It stars two misfits, resent highschool graduates (Enid Coleslaw and Rebecca Doppelmeyer) who both failed to get into college even though they are vastly less stupid than the rest of the "losers" in their hometown (in america).

I really real I and my sis relates to these girls, even if she doesn't agree, but i digress.

Enid apparently "drifts through life without a care" thanks youtube (never believe youtube!) as if she just does buy into the norm! ok, in the comic she makes her love interest, josh (who's kinda sheepish if you ask me) go into a adult shop and buys a bondage cat woman mask (no, this comic is not dirty in anyway...it's arty). she likes to play pranks on people for her own happyness. she loves the morbid!

Daniel clowes stated "When I started out I thought of her as this id creature . . . Then I realized halfway through that she was just more vocal than I was, but she has the same kind of confusion, self-doubts and identity issues that I still have -- even though she's 18 and I'm 39!" Enid Coleslaw's name is also an anigram of his name.

Now to Rebecca Doppelmeyer, neck length blonde hair and Enid's best friend. she is far more passive and naive than Enid. she's far more normal than Enid too, however really does feel second best. she's acturally pretty obsessive in the two's firendship too. usually responding in a sarcastic way. most of the time, her responses have nothing to do with what Enid is talking about. She has no particular aspiration in life and clingings past. she also has a crush on Josh (the same one as enid). i feel she dislikes and likes Enid at the same time and she gets mad at Enid when she does things without her. i kept on asking myself where are they going? where is their friendship going? if their not lesbians, why are they still together? yeah it's pretty undertoned.

the ending made me sad. the girls just grew apart and not much is answered. either Rebecca or neither got josh in the end, it's just never exsplained or shown. It ends with Enid's plain carried out which is states at the beginning of the book, which is Just packing a bag and hoping on the next bus to the city and jsut disappearing. alot of people think this was symbolisim for suicide. but when i read the book i didn't get that. though it kind does make sence. Rebecca grows up and becomes "a beauitful young woman" and really nolonger need Enid in the way she used too.

so it's kind 2 paths misfits can make or whatever, i don't know!

well apparently is a novel and a movie too!! i'll keep my eyes open for scans of the comic book so you can read and she what i mean when i say it's a really good read!

at the moment i'm pretty obsessed with the work of Fafi! she's a french artist who is so totally cult it's unfar!!! she's pretty famous so it would be not surprize if you're seem her work on tee, shoes...oh and the streets!

I've been kinda reading up on her work and getting all inspired by her too cute work!

i was watching the show on ABC called NotquietArt which is all about art not being confined to gallery (you can download the eps of the ABC australian site) and on ep 2 they were talking about street art in melbourne and you can see her working on one of her famous, icon fafinettea girls!!! her work is stylized and just so fantastic!!!

her work has a sence of energy about it which i would love to capture in my drawing. atm i feel i am in a bit of a rut and i find my self photocopying pages out of books and magerzines. i have a paint due in 2 weeks and i can't think let alone do!!! that is my i am i guess doing wat i am atm.

Were have i been? at a homestead in the country. Halfway from were i live and the town i was born in. we arrived early and i homestead well was huge!! it was creep us the 4 of us there. it felt like a house from an english murder mystery. everything was old and rustic. most of the rooms if not wood or brick had real wallpaper!!! WOW. apparently the place was old (no darr) so i was told not to pick at it (as if i would!!). within the hour i had taken photos of everything! thats when my cousins and co came with there cousins and co. Then the house was noisy and messy. shame. we had to tie up our dog then and argue.
there was six or seven bed rooms. the young kids shared the kiddy bedroom. boo n i shared of course. there was horses, sheep, cow and PIGS on there too! i love pigs i want to make a pig softie! i also made a monster softie in the car while driving there! peace!

Shop Manikins Blog no:13

Have Manikins ever interested you? they interest me! they ARE life sized dolls!!! come on how don't they interest me! over the past few days (because family came down) we went shopping in melboure alot. i spotted the first photo in the Miss Shop section of the Bassment (which is the tween to twenties section in Myer stores. because the department stores are under ground, very cool). I was very impressed that they placed the manikins in wooden larger than life barbie doll cases!!! don't you agree that it cute?

The second pic is from a top high street bra shop. The shop was very glossy and lavish. i was impressed how this doll really communicated the style of the shop. I loved her wig and the effort the shop had gone too, to add feathers, flowers, fur and butterflies in her hair. She really greets the customers! my brother seemed to like her too.

Sparkle the fairy doll is delicate! she has lots and lots of beads and sequins! the most interesting part about he ris her wings which one side is covered with white sequins and the other side has silver and white. This took Time to do!! also sequins are rapped around her pigtails. two tear drop beads (which shine purple) act as the bow for her pig tails. she hold her self up easier than my other doll because she has a peice of wire which runs inside of her. only on one side of her skirt does she have blue heart shaped beads. To have this affect your self you must sew the decorations on before sewing with the back half and stuffing.

i decorated her by sew scrap peices of ribbon and felt wrapped around her body.

i made her for myself, to prove i could make her.

I will put the pattern of her wings, skirt, top and hair up. Her legs and arms are standard and was the same as the mawako doll.

Sparkle likes drinking cups of tea and singing to herself!

Pattern to Miwako doll! Blog no:11

Hey guys! to the left is a proper pic of Miwako from the anime! as you can see her hair is pink! with is very important if the doll is of miwako! oh also she's cute! You will need four buttons for her hair, but i think nice beads would look very nice also! Her outfits i think are always very cute and i outfit i chose for this pattern is copied from afew of her's from the manga!

The next pic is inspiration and shows a breif lay out of how the dolls body should look. I suggest you stick a peice of wire through the body to make her sit up right. the cross hatched parts in the pattern is the part of felt which must be sewn into another part. FANCY FANCY FACIAL FACES

Here's some idea for not only the "Happy Apples" but for well any softie doll that you could design or make of mine. It is important for your softie doll to lots of personality.
don't worry if you make a face that is not perfect cos it's the inperfections that make the softie sometimes!
An easy way to make a curve is to leave the thread a bit loose and not pull the thread. i have some photo copys of types of knots that will help u understand how to make some of these face that i will up load at a later date.

remember big eyes= cute

i must admit i was not completely novel when i made this pattern i did see this idea in another persons craft blog but this is not there pattern!

This is miwako! she's a character from a manga and anime called Paradise Kiss! i designed her myself from the help of the 3 "para" (short title for the manga books). Paradise Kiss is all about fashion and clothes design. She's the only character that i feel i would be ok to make into a softie!

Miwako is cute and loveable. She is a lotia character and child like in personality. She wear para kiss cothes and of course her sister's band happy berry.

It was timely to make and her face was quiet differcult. i love her!!!

I went Op shopping in melbourne yesturday and found inspiration in the toys they were selling there for softies.
the toys were displayed on the second room's back wall. (at super savers) and as soon as i saw the wall i thought i gotta take a picture!!!

mechani-panda!!! blog no: 5

this is the mechani-panda! he is a timely pattern!
i got the pattern in a felt sofites book i found in my local library the book is featured to the left.
i have made a lot of these felt softies featured in this book and so has my sister. it is a great beginners book! and every thing in it is very very very cute!!!

i used to dislike how my panda turned out but now i have seen other craft blogs mechani-panda and now i feel better about the poor little guy.

i used black pen to trace (which is a very very bad idea!) which has made him look grubby! learn from my mistake!

This is a very happy bunny i made.
i used a pattern i found online from "my little mochi" (a softie toy site)
it's a very simple pattern however may require a sewing machine.
you will find the pattern under patterns & Tutorials.

Note: i made the ears differently from the pattern

remember to save all pattern cut outs if you want to remake them (i use a folder)

My L softie! Blog no: 3

This is my own pattern of the character L from popular manga, anime and movie Death Note.
L is an enigmatic character, no-one knows much about where he comes from (though it may have something to do with an orphanidge in the later volumes). L is a character whose mind is always going a mile a minute (a concept that's made the Death Note manga so very popular) as he deduces who Kira is. Everything he does seems to be a way of manipulating circumstances so that he may discover Kira, though he does have an obsession with sweets... seldom seen without them in some form or another.

L sits in his trade mark pose (knees up and thumb finger nail in mouth).
I used felt to make him!
colours used:
-black for hair and eyes
-(pale) skin for head, hands and feet.
-white for eyes and shirt
-grey for pants (but light blue can be used)

i will draw up the pattern and intructions at a later date. But isn't he cute!!!

Handmade cards! blog no:2

Hello and welcome to my second blog. In the christmas holidays i made a set of 3 handmade cards to pass time.

I used:

-ready made bronze coloured cards

-stiff dark red ribbon

-scraps of white fabric

-thin white ribbon

-white thread

-small whtie beads

-standard white shirt buttons.

also you will need a hot glue gun, a pencil and scissors.

I will be sure to up load the pattern and intructions so that people can make them. but please do not sell them. Not that you'll want to i find it hard to use them and have only sent one to my brother's girlfriend.

they are pretty easy to make and look very affective.

I'm elisa and go to Uni, enjoy creating and looking at art and classical ballet

The purpose of this blog is to display my hand made softies and patterns. I have been making softies since around last xmas.

I'd also like to blog reviews on books, movies and other things that have been going on in my life.

The picture featured in this blog is some of the colourful buttons i brought from an op shop last week. it was $2 a bag and i brought alot. I wounld of brought them all if i had the money. At the moment i am unemployed and poor. this week i only spent $2 on food and ate at other pplz houses.

I will try to blog as much as i can.
